# CVE-2017-1000353: Jenkins Remote Code Execution Vulnerability - Exploited (CISA KEV): yes, added 2025-10-02 - Published: 2018-01-29 - CVSS: 9.8 CRITICAL (v3.1) - EPSS: 99.7% (100th percentile) Jenkins versions 2.56 and earlier as well as 2.46.1 LTS and earlier are vulnerable to an unauthenticated remote code execution. An unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability allowed attackers to transfer a serialized Java `SignedObject` object to the Jenkins CLI, that would be deserialized using a new `ObjectInputStream`, bypassing the existing blacklist-based protection mechanism. We're fixing this issue by adding `SignedObject` to the blacklist. We're also backporting the new HTTP CLI protocol from Jenkins 2.54 to LTS 2.46.2, and deprecating the remoting-based (i.e. Java serialization) CLI protocol, disabling it by default. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | Before feed history | — | — | | AWS | Before feed history | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | Before feed history | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | Before feed history | — | — | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | Before feed history | — | — | "No public claim" means no vendor statement names this CVE; "Before feed history" means the CVE is older than the vendor feed. In both cases generic rules may still block it. HTML: https://cve.vigilbase.com/cve/CVE-2017-1000353 · JSON: https://cve.vigilbase.com/api/v1/cves/CVE-2017-1000353
