# CVE-2024-35219: OpenAPI Generator Online - Arbitrary File Read/Delete - Exploited (CISA KEV): no - Published: 2024-05-27 - CVSS: 8.3 HIGH (v3.1) - EPSS: 3.6% (89th percentile) - CWE: CWE-22 OpenAPI Generator allows generation of API client libraries (SDK generation), server stubs, documentation and configuration automatically given an OpenAPI Spec. Prior to version 7.6.0, attackers can exploit a path traversal vulnerability to read and delete files and folders from an arbitrary, writable directory as anyone can set the output folder when submitting the request via the `outputFolder` option. The issue was fixed in version 7.6.0 by removing the usage of the `outputFolder` option. No known workarounds are available. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | Before feed history | — | — | | AWS | No public claim | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | No public claim | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | Rule published | 2025-06-30 | 399 | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | No public claim | — | — | ### F5 - 2025-06-30 · new · rule 200007092 > Added: signature 200007092 "OpenAPI Generator Path Traversal" (Path Traversal, risk High), systems: Java Servlets/JSP, Other Web Server.
