# CVE-2025-20282: Cisco ISE API Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution Vulnerability - Exploited (CISA KEV): no - Published: 2025-06-25 - CVSS: 10 CRITICAL (v3.1) - EPSS: 38.7% (99th percentile) - CWE: CWE-269 A vulnerability in an internal API of Cisco ISE and Cisco ISE-PIC could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to upload arbitrary files to an affected device and then execute those files on the underlying operating system as root. This vulnerability is due a lack of file validation checks that would prevent uploaded files from being placed in privileged directories on an affected system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by uploading a crafted file to the affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to store malicious files on the affected system and then execute arbitrary code or obtain root privileges on the system. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | No public claim | — | — | | AWS | No public claim | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | No public claim | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | Rule published | 2026-10-21 | 483 | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | No public claim | — | — | ### F5 - 2026-10-21 · new · rule 200020259 > Added: signature 200020259 "Cisco ISE API Unauthenticated File Upload" (Malicious File Upload, risk High), systems: Cisco.
