# CVE-2025-2075: Uncanny Automator <= 6.3.0.2 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Privilege Escalation - Exploited (CISA KEV): no - Published: 2025-04-04 - CVSS: 8.8 HIGH (v3.1) - EPSS: 2.8% (86th percentile) - CWE: CWE-862 The Uncanny Automator – Easy Automation, Integration, Webhooks & Workflow Builder Plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.0.2. This is due to add_role() and user_role() functions missing proper capability checks performed through the validate_rest_call() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to set the role of arbitrary users to administrator granting full access to the site, though privilege escalation requires an active account on the site so this is considered an authenticated privilege escalation. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | No public claim | — | — | | AWS | No public claim | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | No public claim | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | Rule published | 2025-06-30 | 87 | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | No public claim | — | — | ### F5 - 2025-06-30 · new · rule 200013123 > Added: signature 200013123 "WordPress Uncanny Automator Privilege Escalation" (Authentication/Authorization Attacks, risk High), systems: PHP, WordPress.
