# CVE-2026-15748: Forminator Forms <= 1.56.1 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload via Forged Upload Field Configuration - Exploited (CISA KEV): no - Published: 2026-08-18 - CVSS: 9.8 CRITICAL (v3.1) - EPSS: 4.1% (91th percentile) - CWE: CWE-434 The Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload in all versions up to, and including, 1.56.1 via the handle_file_upload function. This is due to insufficient file type validation in handle_file_upload, where the dangerous-extension blocklist performs exact-key matching that is bypassed by pipe-alternative MIME type keys, combined with a public submission handler that trusts attacker-controlled upload field configuration injected via a forged Select field value. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload files that may be executable, which makes remote code execution possible. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | No public claim | — | — | | AWS | No public claim | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | No public claim | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | Rule published | 2026-09-16 | 29 | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | No public claim | — | — | ### F5 - 2026-09-16 · new · rule 200020253 > Added: signature 200020253 "WordPress Forminator Forms Arbitrary File Upload" (Malicious File Upload, risk High), systems: WordPress.
