# CVE-2026-3844: Breeze Cache <= 2.4.4 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload via fetch_gravatar_from_remote - Exploited (CISA KEV): no - Published: 2026-04-23 - CVSS: 9.8 CRITICAL (v3.1) - EPSS: 27.7% (98th percentile) - CWE: CWE-434 The Breeze Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the 'fetch_gravatar_from_remote' function in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.4. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible. The vulnerability can only be exploited if "Host Files Locally - Gravatars" is enabled, which is disabled by default. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | No public claim | — | — | | AWS | No public claim | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | No public claim | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | Rule published | 2026-07-07 | 75 | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | No public claim | — | — | ### F5 - 2026-07-07 · new · rule 200020243 > Added: signature 200020243 "Breeze Cache Arbitrary File Upload" (Malicious File Upload, risk Medium), systems: WordPress.
