# CVE-2026-53157: net: phonet: free phonet_device after RCU grace period - Exploited (CISA KEV): no - Published: 2026-06-25 - CVSS: not scored - EPSS: 0.1% (2th percentile) In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: phonet: free phonet_device after RCU grace period phonet_device_destroy() removes a phonet_device from the per-net device list with list_del_rcu(), but frees it immediately. RCU readers walking the same list can still hold a pointer to the object after it has been removed, leading to a slab-use-after-free. Use kfree_rcu(), matching the lifetime rule already used by phonet_address_del() for the same object type. ## Edge WAF coverage (claimed by vendors, not measured) | Vendor | Status | First rule | Days after publication | |---|---|---|---| | Cloudflare | No public claim | — | — | | AWS | No public claim | — | — | | Microsoft Azure | No public claim | — | — | | Google Cloud | No public claim | — | — | | Fastly | Before feed history | — | — | | F5 | No public claim | — | — | | Akamai | No public source | — | — | | OWASP CRS | No public claim | — | — | ## Social 1 posts seen since 2026-11-02. - Exploit repository (unvetted): https://github.com/santoshkalluri/CVE-2026-53157 "No public claim" means no vendor statement names this CVE; "Before feed history" means the CVE is older than the vendor feed.
